Trash Bags Can Be Cute Too

Remember that fabric from Claire's blanket that I was in love with? It's now riding around in my car as a trash bag. I seriously love it! Now if only I can find time to make a teacher bag with it... =)

Blast Off! Space Set

A navy, baby blue, and yellow themed nursery in a space theme called for a mix of prints to carry out the theme on this patchwork cuddle blanket.

It's backed in navy dot minky and topped with ribbons for attaching toys or stroller handles.
I also made a matching burp cloth with a cute little minky rocket.

He'll get an adorable set of matching name blocks too for a cute complete set. Love!

Super Baby!

Looking for a baby boy nursery theme? How about super heroes? That's exactly what lucky baby Draven is getting! I was afraid I'd have to focus on navy and red alone, but I managed to find an entire super hero section of fabric at Joann's. It's a fairly busy print so I paired it with simple dots.

What a cute blank for a tough little man! It's backed in navy dot minky and topped with coordinating ribbons.

Big Sister's Cuddle Blanket

After baby Claire received her cuddle blanket, her big sister loved it so much she needed her own. I used similar colors so they looked like a pair, but were still unique.

I also made this one a couple inches bigger since she's a big girl now. It's backed in aqua dot minky and topped with ribbons too.

I'm still considering stocking up on pink and aqua fabric. Love the combo!

Favorite New Combo

Even though I've had to stop sewing for Little Apple Cuties online due to my blog design wait list, I've been sewing up a storm locally this month. I just had to share my new favorite color combo for baby girls. If we had a little girl of our own, we would totally be doing a teal and pink nursery like this! Maybe I could stockpile fabric now.... ;)

Do you love that or what? =) It's backed in super soft vine minky and topped with ribbons, of course.
After giving baby Claire her cuddle blanket, the mommy said big sister Lauren needed one too because she loved Claire's so much. That one's coming up next in similar colors.

Blue and Orange Teacher Banner

Sara is getting married and wanted a banner with new last name. She chose the colors to represent her soon to be hubby who is in the Coast Guard. How thoughtful is that?

as shown, $50

The back-to-school itch must be starting because I've received several new pencil bunting requests. :)

All the way to Alaska...

This one wins the longest shipment award. It went to a little cutie in Alaska!
Savannah's nursery is just precious and so inspiring. It *almost* makes me want to get a little nursery ready in our house too. ;) The new mommy also sent a picture of Savannah in her car seat with the cuddle blanket... she's so tiny and perfect!

I hope she loves snuggling her blankie!

Ocean Themed Baby Boy Cuddle Blanket

So... I'm a teacher by day and blogger/teacher resource creator/blog designer by night. For those of you keeping track, that doesn't leave a ton of time for sewing. =) However, I really do love it. Whenever I get tired of looking at the computer screen, I pull out my embroidery and sewing machines to tackle the next item on my list. It's peaceful and I get so much enjoyment out of each finished order or gift. With summer coming up soon (one month to go!), I'm hoping to spend more time on my machines soon.

Here's one of last weekend's projects: a super soft cuddle blanket for sweet baby Landon. The ocean theme is just so cute!

It's backed in baby blue minky. As pictured, $30.

Love it!

Whoooo is turning one?

One of my coworkers is doing an owl theme for her daughter's first birthday. She was all over Pinterest and asked if I could make a little shirt for the party in pink and brown. Um... yes!! I love how this little darling turned out and can't wait to see pictures of the birthday girl soon!
$15 on shirt supplied by client

Pink and Yellow Teacher Banner

I adore this banner. I've been sitting on it since spring break, so I'm pumped to get to share it with you today. The yellow really pops with the pink and they really do look like little pencils. My husband teased me that I should embroider "#2" on the top because they look so real.  These banners really are a labor of love. This one took just over three and a half hours sewing, cutting, and assembling... but they are just so darn cute!

The best part? A cooperating teacher bought this for her student teacher as a going away gift. How thoughtful!

If you're interested in a banner, they come in all colors of the rainbow. It's $7 per letter for the first five letters; $5 per letter after that. As pictured, the one above is $60.

Sweet Baby Girl Cuddle Blanket

Miss Kendall is due any day now so her cuddle blanket is still waiting for her arrival. The new mommy has already received it though, and it's just too cute not to go on and share. It's one of my favorite color palettes... perfect for a sweet little girl!

This one is backed in soft purple dot minky.

I'm on spring break next week and if I can kick this bug that's been lingering, I'll have a couple more to share with you this week!

Yellow and Gray Cuddle Blanket

Florals and polka dots look so sweet in yellow and gray. This baby girl cuddle blanket was made for the precious Cora Anne. It's still a little damp in the pictures, but will fluff up nicely when it's dry.

It's backed in gray vine minky that just begs to be touched by little fingers. Of course it also has those handy little ribbons.

The best part is how great this one looks great next to its matching accessories.

I just love the yellow and gray combo!

Puppy Cuddle Blanket for Baby Boy

My fingers have been worked nearly to the bone, but I have several new blankets to share with you soon!

I have done more baby girl cuddle blankets than baby boys, but this boy blanket is every bit as cute as any of the girls' with its puppy theme.

Xander's name is appliqued in puppy prints above a fuzzy puppy face with two materials for a tactile experience. This one is also backed in super soft chocolate minky and has the ribbons for exploring fingers, linking toys, or attaching to strollers.

I hope he spends many days snuggling with it!

A Little Follow-Up

I squealed with delight to see this little cutie had his picture taken with one of my baby blankets so I had to post it. Many thanks to the new mommy for letting me share!

He's going to be a heartbreaker. I can tell already. =)

Pink and Brown Baby Girl Cuddle Blanket

Is there anything sweeter than a new baby girl? This blanket was requested in pinks and browns to match a cute little stuffed cow provided by my client.
applique cuddle blanket, 18 inches square $30

It has super soft minky on the back in baby girl pink and a square of brown minky in the top corner. As always, it has ribbons for attaching toys, hanging the blanket on a carseat/stroller, or exploring by little fingers.

I hope you love it, Hadley!
